Полумаска противоаэрозольная У-2К снабжена клапанами вдоха и выдоха, что обеспечивает оптимальный режим работы, исключая ее увлажнение, следствием которого является рост сопротивления дыханию. Внешний слой полумаски изготовлен из пенополиуретана (поролона) и выполняет функцию фильтра предварительной очистки воздуха от грубых частиц пыли. Следующий слой состоит из тонковолокнистого материала с высокой фильтрующей поверхностью, он выполняет функцию очистки воздуха от мелкодисперсных аэрозолей. На фиксирующих лентах есть эргономичный затылочный держатель.
